My name is Garrett Kern. I am a restaurant professional and a lover of all things gustatory. Ever since I was a small child I loved to cook: I would help my mother in the kitchen, watch cooking shows on television and enjoy dining out as a family. I was soon determined to become a chef someday. Eventually I started experimenting on my own in the kitchen and created some raving successes and astounding failures. I began working in restaurants at the age of sixteen and, through the years, my professional skills and interests have changed. I now work as a skilled sommelier and restaurant operations manager. My love of food educates and excites my palate, and has lead to a fulfilling life full of delicious experiences. Garrett’s Table will always be my place to cook and explore!
The table is the center of life for many families and individuals and I created Garrett’s Table as a forum to share my work and experiences with the world. I frequently post recipes that I have developed, write about culinary successes and failures, and react to my experiences in the gustatory world. I invite and encourage critical discussion, idea exchange, and professional advice and outreach. Garrett’s Table also serves as my digital portfolio. People can use Garrett’s Table to see the value of my education and the reach of my personal and professional motivation.
